Substitutions Module
PURPOSE OF THE MODULE
The Substitutions module is an integral part of the EduTimetable for managing daily timetable changes.
- Core Function: Modifies the class schedule to adapt to daily teacher absences.
- Process: Uses the weekly timetable as a base. Users enter absent teachers to generate a new daily schedule.
- Key Outcome: Creates a seamless daily timetable with no empty slots ("gaps") for students.
- Documentation: All substitutions are logged, stored, and can be printed or published to various displays.
- Flexibility: Supports both automatic calculation and manual lesson scheduling.
- Scope: Works for any timetable period and maintains a unified log of all changes.
- Cancellations: Includes a mechanism to formally cancel lessons when a replacement cannot be found.
